Asen’s shop in Sofia, Bulgaria performed an amazing transformation on a basic BMW R nineT. The stock wheels, rear suspension, subframe, and bodywork were removed to start this makeover.
These first adjustments prepared the way for a thorough makeover. The approach involved major changes to the back, best shown by the creation of a special subframe that joins the main chassis innovatively.
Enhanced with a premium, adjustable Ohlins piggyback shock absorber and a carbon fiber fender mounted on the swingarm, the rear suspension was elevated to a new level.
The highlight of the makeover is a carbon fiber fuel tank from Tossa R’s collection, strategically placed to achieve the level bone line characteristic of classic cafe racers. Completing the aesthetic is a bespoke front fender and carbon fiber valve cover, culminating in a striking custom build.
The repurposed wheels from a BMW K 1200, wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tires, provide excellent grip. A compact license plate bracket is attached to the swingarm on the right side of the rear wheel. Up front, the headlamp from a Yamaha MT-03 is housed in a custom-made enclosure.
The cockpit boasts clip-on handlebars and a digital Motoscope Pro dial from Motogadget, with underslung mirrors and bar-end turn signals. Billet aluminum rearsets complete the ergonomic setup.
Minimal engine modifications include removing the airbox in favor of custom velocity stacks and adding a discreet new exhaust system. The color scheme combines gold, exposed carbon fiber, and a dark burgundy that nearly appears black.
