Under the watchful eye of mastermind Takashi Nihira-san, a 2014 Honda CB1100EX underwent a stunning metamorphosis at Wedge Motorcycle.
The ambition? To bridge the gap between eras, transforming this modern machine into a rolling tribute to the golden age of motorcycling.
Nihira-san’s approach was surgical. Each stock component was scrutinized, with those deemed extraneous to the new identity falling by the wayside.
Seats, exhaust, and lighting were just the first dominoes to tip, replaced with parts that echoed a more classic aesthetic.
Yet, the transformation went deeper than skin deep. Nihira-san envisioned a change that touched the very soul of the machine, altering both its form and function.
Shedding its skeletal form, the motorcycle underwent a metamorphosis under Takashi’s skilled hands. He crafted a bespoke outfit that breathed new life into the machine.
The centerpiece became a gorgeous, downsized fuel tank, its lines echoing the original design with a subtle nod to the past.
Gone were the cumbersome fenders, replaced by a sharp tail section that evoked the spirit of classic cafe racers. A sleek electronics tray nestled snugly beneath the custom-made seat, hinting at the modern tech hidden within.
