Nissan has pulled back the curtain on the redesigned 2025 Kicks subcompact crossover, marking a significant overhaul for the popular SUV. Set to hit the U.S. market in late summer, the latest iteration of the Kicks promises a host of upgrades, including a more spacious interior, a more robust engine, and the option for all-wheel drive.
The 2025 Nissan Kicks represents a notable departure from its predecessor, boasting a sleek and modern exterior design that aligns it more closely with the subcompact SUV segment.
With a larger footprint, the new Kicks aims to compete head-to-head with rivals like the Hyundai Kona and Mazda CX-30. Sporting a playful aesthetic characterized by pronounced wheel arches and a distinctive grille, the Kicks exudes a sense of youthful energy.
Available in S, SV, and SR trims, the SR variant showcases upscale features such as 19-inch wheels and unique accent lights. Inside, the cabin offers increased rear-seat room and cargo space, making it more versatile for everyday use.
Standard and optional technology features abound, with highlights including a 7.0-inch touchscreen display as standard and the option for a dual 12.3-inch display setup for the digital gauge cluster and central infotainment screen in the SR trim.
More driver-assistance features are now included as standard. Additionally, the new Kicks offers the option for Nissan’s ProPilot Assist function, adding an extra layer of convenience for drivers. Other available amenities include a panoramic sunroof and a premium 10-speaker Bose audio system.
The 2025 Kicks is powered by a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). While not designed for high-performance driving, this powertrain promises improved acceleration compared to its predecessor.
Front-wheel drive comes standard, but buyers can opt for all-wheel drive across all trim levels, albeit with a slight reduction in cargo space due to the additional mechanical components.
Despite its enhanced features and larger dimensions, Nissan maintains that the Kicks remains an entry-level vehicle.
Anticipated pricing is expected to start at around $23,000 for the base S FWD model, with loaded SR AWD variants likely topping out at around $30,000. With its combination of style, versatility, and affordability, the 2025 Nissan Kicks aims to make a splash when it arrives at dealerships later this year.
