Anson Renshaw, residing in Mesa, Arizona, proudly owns this automobile, a gift from his grandmother, the original owner. The Renshaw family, including Anson LeVake and Sarah, arrived in Seward, Alaska, in 1940, owning the Gold Cord mine near Anchorage.
Sarah Renshaw, hailing from Petersburg, Alaska, was a resilient individual, enjoying her smokes and brandy. In 1966, she and her husband walked into an Anchorage Buick dealership and chose a Seafoam Green Wildcat Custom two-door hardtop equipped with a potent V8 engine and devoid of air conditioning.
The Wildcat led a pampered life, rarely exposed to the elements. Anson Renshaw ensured suitable garage accommodations, prioritizing the car’s well-being even during harsh Alaskan winters.
In January of the present year, the odometer reached 10,000 miles. Celebrating this milestone in Mesa, Arizona, Anson shared the moment with Lou Costabile. Notably, apart from minor replacements, the Power Cushion tires remain original.
The Super Turbine three-speed automatic transmission, paired with a 3.07:1 rear axle, ensured smooth operation. Anson intends to capitalize on Buick’s free 12,000-mile check-up offer, underscoring the enduring reliability of his cherished Wildcat.
