After seven years in the market, BMW is preparing to bid farewell to the third-generation X3, a stalwart in the premium compact crossover segment. However, enthusiasts need not fret, as the Munich-based automaker is poised to reveal its successor imminently.

Spy shots of camouflaged prototypes have been circulating, offering the look of the upcoming X3’s revamped design. Recently, digital renderings from Kolesa have provided a realistic depiction of what we can expect from BMW’s latest iteration of the X3.

Compared to its predecessor, the all-new X3 features sharper LED headlamps with updated daytime running lights and a slightly enlarged grille, striking a balance between modernity and BMW’s signature design language. The front bumper adopts a more aggressive stance, with a prominent central air intake and larger side vents, enhancing its sporty appeal.

At the rear, the design evolution continues, with slimmer taillamps and a redesigned bumper lending a contemporary flair to the X3’s silhouette. The relocation of the license plate to the bumper allows for a cleaner aesthetic, while the sporty bumper and diffuser combination exudes athleticism.

Beneath the revamped exterior lies the familiar CLAR platform, albeit with enhancements to the suspension system. BMW engineers have fine-tuned the chassis for improved rigidity, wider track, and enhanced handling dynamics, ensuring that the next-gen X3 delivers a thrilling driving experience without compromising on comfort.

Inside, the X3 boasts the latest BMW Drive setup, featuring the brand’s Operating System 9 and iDrive Controller. Enhanced driver assistance features and cutting-edge technology further raise the X3’s appeal, while new upholstery options cater to diverse preferences. Notable innovations include the Parking and Maneuver Assistant, allowing for remote control via smartphone.

While specifics regarding powertrains remain under wraps, BMW has confirmed the inclusion of combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and mild-hybrid technology in the X3 lineup. With its impending debut just around the corner, enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the arrival of the next-generation X3, poised to set new benchmarks in the premium compact crossover segment.
