Many engines are getting smaller and adding turbochargers. Even Aston Martin, known for its powerful V12 engines, seemed to be following this trend when they stopped using their V12 in the DB12 model. But surprise! Aston Martin announced that the V12 is not going away. They’ve actually redesigned it.

Aston didn’t give all the details, but it looks like they changed a lot about the engine. They talked about making the engine block and connecting rods stronger. They also mentioned using bigger fuel injectors and making new cam profiles, intake, and exhaust ports. The new engine now makes 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

That’s a lot more than the current highest-output Aston V12, which makes 759 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque in the DBS 770 Ultimate. We’re excited to hear about any other changes they made to get these new numbers.

We won’t have to wait long to find out more. Aston said they’ll put the new engine in a new flagship model coming out this year. They didn’t say what the new car will be called, but they did drop a hint with the phrase: “All will be vanquished.” So, get ready for a new V12 Vanquish later this year.
