Ram Trucks recently released a three-minute video called “The Convoy” to promote their RHO pickup truck. In the video, they showcased various Ram products, including the Warlock and Rebel X trims. Jeff Summers, head of advertising at Ram Trucks, shared some interesting details about the video on LinkedIn.
He pointed out 20 features, such as a custom Baja truck owned by Baja race winner Rhys Millen, and two KTM motorcycles representing Ram’s partnership with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
One of the motorcycles in the video had the race number 540, which matches the output of the Ram RHO pickup. Summers mentioned that the other motorcycle intentionally had no number, hinting at a future high-performance Ram vehicle with three letters. This suggests that Ram might be working on a successor to the TRX pickup truck.
This LinkedIn post by Summers comes shortly after Bob Broderdorf, Ram’s global operations officer, clarified during the RHO launch that the RHO is not meant to replace the TRX. However, he emphasized that Ram has the capability to build extreme vehicles like the TRX if they choose to. He neither confirmed nor denied the existence of a TRX successor with similar horsepower.
There’s speculation that SRT, Ram’s performance division, could enhance the RHO’s engine to surpass the TRX’s power output. Alternatively, Ram might explore electrified performance trucks in the future, after introducing electrified versions of their regular trucks.
Considering these developments, there’s a possibility that Ram is indeed working on a successor to the TRX. This has sparked excitement among truck enthusiasts, as there seems to be a genuine chance of seeing a high-performance Ram pickup in the near future.
