Amidst fervent excitement, BMW’s M-Division announced the limited production of the M5 Touring sporty station wagon for the US market. With its six-figure price tag and formidable 503 horsepower, When it comes to quick wagons, the M5 Touring presents itself as a unique type.

However, Ironworks Speed & Kustom, under Rodger Lee’s direction, defied expectations by crafting a custom 1965 Chevy Chevelle wagon that outpaces the M5 Touring in performance. Despite its unassuming exterior, adorned with factory paint and black steel wheels, this restomod hides a powerhouse beneath its hood.

Replacing its original powerplant with a 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 sourced from the C7 Corvette Z06, CT5-V Blackwing, and Chevy Camaro ZL1, the Chevelle wagon now boasts over 640 horsepower.

Paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission, this powerhouse accelerates with vigor, rivaling modern sports cars. Moreover, the custom chassis from Speedtech ExtReme, featuring tubular control arms, JRI coilovers, and disc brakes at all corners, ensures optimal performance and handling.

Internally, the fully restored interior retains its OEM appearance, featuring vinyl-wrapped front bucket seats and a color-matched steering wheel and dashboard. The culmination of meticulous craftsmanship and performance engineering, this custom Chevy Chevelle wagon exemplifies automotive ingenuity and timeless allure.
