In America, Honda’s upcoming $47,400 GM-based Prologue all-electric model will be sold alongside the $32,895 Accord Hybrid and $34,350 CR-V Hybrid. In China, Honda is launching an entire series of electric models called the Ye family. This new lineup was introduced at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition and will join the existing e: N lineup available in China.

The first two models in the Ye family are the Ye P7 and Ye S7, both developed on a new EV platform available in single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations. These models look similar except for the fascia, but Honda also plans to launch a production model based on the Ye GT concept car.

The Ye GT concept features a fastback sedan profile, a pointy nose, sleek headlights, and a low, wide stance. While there are no technical details yet, Honda claimed it was designed “to provide the ultimate driving experience.” Many are eager to see these models, especially the GT, introduced globally, ideally without being a joint venture product from China.

In his latest video, the CGI expert transforms the old-school, naturally-aspirated Honda S2000 by merging it with the Ye GT Concept’s design. The final product, named Z2000, sparks the question: Should Honda resurrect the S2000 as an electric roadster to rival the MG Cyberster? Perhaps, but an ICE option to compete with the Mazda MX-5 Miata would be even better, especially for the American market.
