Meet the Polestar 5, an electric car coming soon from a company called Polestar. Polestar makes electric cars that are all about high performance, unlike their parent company, Volvo. The Polestar 5 actually started out as a concept car called the Polestar Precept. People liked the Precept so much that Polestar decided to make it a real car and named it the Polestar 5!
So, what does the Polestar 5 look like? It’s a sleek and sporty four-door car that looks a bit like a hatchback. One interesting thing is that it doesn’t have a back window! But don’t worry, the roof is made of glass so the inside won’t be too dark.
The overall design is pretty smooth and clean, and it follows the same style as other Polestar cars like the Polestar 3 SUV. The front lights look like a hammer, just like on the newer Polestar models. The backlights are also cool – they’re a wide bar that goes all the way across the car and slopes down at the edges.
We don’t know exactly what the inside of the Polestar 5 will look like yet, but we’re sure it will be just as stylish as the outside!
The Polestar 5 will be a real powerhouse! It’s got a super strong electric motor with two parts that together crank out 871 horsepower. That’s double the power of the Polestar 2 and puts it in the same league as fancy electric cars like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S.
To feed all that power, the Polestar 5 likely will have a big 103-kWh battery. Even better, it can be charged really fast! In 20 minutes, it can get up to 80% charged with a special 800-volt architecture. There’s also talk of an even faster charging option that can juice up a smaller 77-kWh battery in just 10 minutes!
Speaking of range, Polestar is aiming for the Polestar 5 to travel 372 miles on a single charge. With its powerful motor, the base model should still hit at least 300 miles. We’ll have to wait for the official launch to know for sure.
The price tag for all this power and speed will likely be around $100,000, similar to other high-performance electric cars.
So when can you get your hands on a Polestar 5? Polestar usually launches a new car every year, and the Polestar 3 and 4 are both coming out in 2025. Following that trend, the Polestar 5 should be a 2026 model, which means it might be available for sale sometime next year.
