Audi is marking a significant anniversary by introducing special editions: the RS 4 Avant and the RS 5 Sportback performance edition, each limited to 500 units across Europe and the UK.
In the future, Audi Sport plans to enhance its lineup with more widely available models, such as the 2025 Audi A7 Avant and the 2026 Audi Q7.
Additionally, Audi is changing its naming scheme so that odd numbers will identify models with internal combustion engines (ICEs) while even numbers will identify e-tron electric vehicles.
For example, the Q6 e-tron will be the electric version of the Q5, the A4 will become the A5, and the Q8 will continue to be available in both ICE and electric variants.
Recent spy photos from the Nürburgring Nordschleife have shown the 2025 or 2026 RS Q8 undergoing testing. Despite a facelift, it retains its traditional moniker instead of being renamed Q9.
Given that the Lamborghini Urus, a close relative, has already been refreshed, it’s expected that the RS Q8 will also receive performance enhancements. The 2024 Audi SQ8 has already been updated, suggesting the flagship RS Q8 will receive similar treatment.
