A peek into the future of high-performance luxury is here: the Mercedes-AMG Mythos PureSpeed.

This ultra-exclusive, open-air roadster embodies pure driving exhilaration, borrowing heavily from the history of Mercedes race vehicles and the Formula One racing scene.

While details are scarce, the Mythos PureSpeed takes clear cues from the Mercedes-AMG SL with its familiar lighting design.

However, this is no ordinary SL. The aggressive front discards the signature Mercedes grille for a menacing, shark-like design punctuated by a classic white AMG logo.

Replacing the traditional windshield is a futuristic halo bar, mirroring the cutting-edge technology of modern F1 machines. The rear boasts a distinctive set of flying buttresses, a subtle nod to the legendary 300 SLR that dominated the 1955 Mille Miglia.

A striking design element of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is the color shift from Le Mans red in the front to graphite gray at the rear. Borrowing design cues from the AMG One hypercar, the PureSpeed boasts an aggressive, low-slung silhouette.

Under the hood, rumors suggest two potential powertrains: a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 from the SL 63, offering 577 horsepower, or the monstrous 805-hp E Performance hybrid system. However, the true essence of PureSpeed lies in its radical departure from conventional convertibles.
