Brisbane’s Black Cycles, a renowned custom motorcycle shop established in 2015 by Noel Muller, is famous for its innovative transformations. Their mastery is evident in projects like the reinvented Honda CB1100F.

In 2022, Canberra resident Dan approached Black Cycles with a challenge: his 1983 CB1100F Bol d’Or, dormant for six years. Early 2023 saw Dan deliver the bike for a thorough assessment by Noel.

The envisioned outcome? A cafe racer that paid homage to Ferrari’s design language, reflecting Dan’s family’s custom car background.

The CB1100F’s powerful 1,062cc inline-four engine, exceeding 100 horsepower, provided a solid foundation. However, significant weight reduction, both visual and physical, was necessary.

This custom Honda CB1100F by Black Cycles is a stunning example of its commitment to pushing boundaries in motorcycle design. The sleek front fender complements the modern, aggressive stance created by the lowered forks.

Clip-on handlebars with integrated turn signals and strategically placed mirrors offer a comfortable riding position with a touch of cafe racer style. The rear end is equally purposeful, featuring a minimalist taillight and a swingarm-mounted license plate bracket.

Performance is amped up by a big bore engine kit and high-flow air intake, while a titanium exhaust system ensures a throaty roar.

The engine rebuild and additional cooling system keep everything running smoothly, and the vibrant red paint scheme, reminiscent of Ferrari’s iconic color, completes the head-turning transformation.
