Debuting in 1986, the Nissan Pathfinder has carved a unique path in the SUV. Originally a compact contender, it transitioned into a mid-size option and most recently, a mid-size crossover SUV.

Interestingly, the Pathfinder’s success spawned a luxury counterpart, the Infiniti QX4. Introduced in 1996 after Acura and Lexus established their luxury SUV presence, the QX4 offered a premium alternative to the Pathfinder with distinct styling and a plush interior.

While its run in the US market ended in 2003, the QX4 paved the way for future Infiniti luxury SUVs like the successful FX series and the full-size QX, now known as the QX80.

Ditching the nostalgia, what if the discontinued Infiniti QX4 made a comeback not just in concept but on the road? This possibility has fueled the imaginations of virtual car designers, with Dimas Ramadhan crafting a vision of the QX4 reborn as a luxurious Nissan Pathfinder counterpart.

Imagine the familiar Pathfinder shape enhanced by a striking Infiniti grille, sharp headlights, and elegant taillights stretching across the back. While undeniably attractive, this concept faces a challenge: the Infiniti QX60 already competes directly with the Pathfinder in terms of price.

However, with Nissan prioritizing growth for both brands, a dedicated off-road luxury QX4 revival could hold significant potential. Could it rival the return of the Toyota Land Cruiser? Only time will tell, but one thing’s certain: the prospect is undeniably exciting.
