Verstappen has been the dominant force in Formula 1 lately. Since last year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, only Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has managed to win a race besides him.

Despite efforts from other teams to catch up, Red Bull remains far ahead at the front of the grid. Verstappen’s exceptional skill and his understanding of the car make it seem like he’ll keep winning races and likely secure this year’s championship.

Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, praised Verstappen’s consistency, comparing it to a metronome. Verstappen has won 21 out of the last 23 races since the Chinese Grand Prix in 2019. He’s in great form and seems perfectly in tune with his car and team.

However, Horner knows that dominance in Formula 1 doesn’t last forever. He believes in appreciating success while it lasts. Red Bull can’t guarantee they’ll keep providing Verstappen with such a competitive car in the future, so they’re focusing on making the most of the current situation.

At the start of this season, Red Bull seemed to face more pressure from other teams. But Verstappen’s recent wins in the Japanese and Chinese Grands Prix suggest that Red Bull has pulled ahead once again.

Horner thinks this could be due to the specific characteristics of the Suzuka and Shanghai circuits, which suit Red Bull’s car. However, he acknowledges that the situation could change at upcoming races, especially as weather conditions and track layouts vary.

Despite their recent success, Red Bull knows they must remain vigilant. The competition in Formula 1 is fierce, and they can’t afford to become complacent.
