MotoGP announced some changes to the rules that will start in 2027

Earlier this week, MotoGP announced some changes to the rules that will start in 2027. They’re switching to 850cc engines. The aim is to make the races safer and more exciting by removing some devices that adjust the bike’s height and reducing how much teams can change the aerodynamics.

Honda’s rider, Mir, thinks these changes will make it harder for riders to handle their bikes, but he sees it as a positive thing. He believes it will put more focus on the riders and their skills, which is good for the championship.

Aprilia’s rider, Vinales, agrees. He thinks removing these height devices will help riders who are better at controlling their bikes. Right now, he says, riders can just hit the throttle and go, but without these devices, they’ll have to adjust their style more

Marquez, who’s won the world championship eight times, thinks these changes are good too. He says when bikes have fewer fancy features, it gives riders more chances to show what they can do.

But not everyone is completely happy. Miller thinks the changes will make the bikes look less cool. He says motorcycle racing should be beautiful, and these changes might make the bikes less attractive.

Bagnaia, the reigning champion, has mixed feelings. He’s curious about trying out the new 850cc engine, but he’s not sure about reducing the power. He thinks MotoGP bikes should be the best and fastest, and these changes might slow them down.

Riders have different opinions about the new rules. Some see them as a chance to shine, while others have concerns about how it might affect the sport’s look and feel.
