For a few years, Nissan sold the Rogue Sport alongside the larger Rogue. While the Rogue Sport isn’t sold anymore, its European counterpart, the Qashqai, got an update in 2021 and has now been refreshed.

The most noticeable changes are at the front of the car. The Qashqai now has a new design inspired by Nissan’s electric Ariya crossover. The grille is wider and inspired by ancient Japanese armor, with sharp headlights below thin LED daytime running lights. The back of the car has also been updated with new lights.

There are also new alloy wheel designs and paint colors to choose from. Some models offer a two-tone look with a black roof option.

Inside, the layout remains mostly the same, but there are some new trims and technology upgrades. Higher trim levels come with Alcantara upholstery, and there’s new plastic trim on the center console. The surround-view camera system now has a 3D function, and there’s a feature that shows the driver the position of the front wheels.

The 2024 Qashqai comes with two drivetrains. One is a mild-hybrid system, and the other is a unique hybrid system with a turbocharged three-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a small battery pack. The engine generates electricity for the motor and battery, so there’s no traditional transmission, and the car drives like an electric vehicle.

Pricing for the updated Qashqai will be announced later, and it will be built in England. There are no plans to bring it back to the United States as the Rogue Sport.
