Tesla has always said the Cybertruck is super strong and can tow heavy things. But Bowlus, a company that makes fancy trailers, did some tests, and it turns out another Tesla, the Model X, can tow for longer.

Geneva Long, the CEO of Bowlus, shared the test results on LinkedIn. They hooked up the Model X to one of their trailers, called the Bowlus Volterra, which weighs 3,250 pounds. The Model X could go 235 miles on one charge while towing the trailer. But the Cybertruck, even though it’s supposed to go 340 miles on one charge, only managed 160 miles when towing. So, the Model X did better in real life.

Now, it’s not like the Cybertruck did compared to other electric trucks like the Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning. But it’s still interesting that the older Model X did so much better. Bowlus didn’t say why this happened, but one reason could be that the Cybertruck is heavier than the Model X.

Since Bowlus shared these numbers, people have been talking about other problems with the Cybertruck. Some owners say their trucks stopped working right after they got them. Others have been sharing on social media about the Cybertruck’s quality and how it doesn’t seem like a real truck.

Even though the Cybertruck looks like it’s from the future, these issues are making people think it’s more of an expensive toy than the amazing truck Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, promised. The weird shape of the bed, the tent accessory that doesn’t seem too exciting, and even some rust problems are hurting the Cybertruck’s reputation. Plus, it’s really expensive. But, despite all that, some people are still willing to pay a lot for it. One version, called the “Cyberbeast,” just sold for $262,500 at an auction.
