Electric motors and self-driving software are currently the main discussion topics on the cutting edge of automotive technology. We shouldn’t lose sight of how drivers and passengers interact with cars will fundamentally change as the automobile evolves.

Shifters can be put anywhere, and steering wheels may vanish in self-driving cars as touchscreen and LED illumination technology advances. They can now provide drivers with more information at a look than analog dials.

The new Audi Q6 E-tron is on the cutting edge regarding display technology and engaging with passengers, but it isn’t quite there on that final aspect yet. The interior of the new Q6 E-tron has recently been shown, and Tony Stark-caliber technology is on display.

Interior

Audi has revealed the interior of the new Q6 e-tron, and it has a host of brand-new technologies not found in any other vehicles in the lineup.

The brand-new “Digital Stage” infotainment system is the showpiece of this cabin. A single glass panel that wraps around the driver houses a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 11.9-inch digital driver’s display.
The passenger in the backseat has access to a 10.9-inch touchscreen that they may use to assist the driver with navigation and radio station selection. The privacy screen on this display allows the passenger to watch movies without disturbing the driver.

A head-up display for augmented reality is an additional new feature for the Audi Q6 e-tron. To retain all of your important information in your direct line of sight, it has been engineered to appear 200 meters ahead of the driver.

It projections things like navigation instructions and speed limit signs onto the road ahead. You have a variety of new, elegant-looking fabrics throughout the interior that were created from recycled resources. If you choose an S-Line model, you can choose between Nappa leather or the suede-like Dinamica material for the seats.

The dashboard trim is available in wood, brushed aluminum, or painted metal.

Exterior

The style of the new Q6 e-tron is best seen in these teaser pictures so far. Although a few aesthetic characteristics have been carried over from past models, it is an entirely new design from Audi.

The headlamp design differs, but the blanked-off front grille resembles the smaller Audi Q4 e-tron. The daytime running lights are over the main beams, now situated lower in the bumper and partially covered.

A sloping roofline and slightly more curved side profiles than other SUVs in the lineup give it a slightly sportier look. The final car will likely have a striking black roof and possibly substantial side skirts.

The infotainment system allows you to customize your vehicle by changing the LED signature on the full-width light bar at the rear. The diffuser in the lower bumper and the sizable roof spoiler combine to give this electric SUV a dynamic appearance.

Performance

The Q6 E-Tron is supported by the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed with Porsche, which will also be used by the Macan EV and is one of more than 20 new models the brand wants to introduce by 2025.

Oliver Hoffmann, the director of technical development, stated that it claims a 600km range. The PPE platform’s 800V technology enables a charging rate of up to 270kW.

The Q6 E-tron’s complete performance numbers are still pending, but the Audi A6 E-Tron concept is said to sport a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain that produces 470 horsepower and 800 Nm.

Thanks to new permanently excited electric motors with a “double V” magnet configuration seen in the Macan, these numbers are increased to 603 horsepower and more than 953 Nm.

The Q6 E-Tron, which was supposed to debut last year, will now be unveiled in production form at the end of this year and will go on sale at the beginning of 2024.

The coupé-SUV Sportback variant will next be introduced, which is anticipated to give up some cost and utility in exchange for a more stylish and aerodynamic body form that will result in a little increase in range.

The iconic Ingolstadt factory where the Audi Q2, Audi A3, Audi A4, and Audi A5 are now produced will also be home to the first electric Audi.
