Aston Martin is set to unveil the revamped Vantage on February 12, 2024, and has provided a sneak peek of the updated sports car through a pair of videos on its X platform (formerly Twitter).
The first video features a seat positioned in the middle of a road, accompanied by a voiceover from Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso. The caption, “Engineered by real drivers. 12.02.2024 Sit down, listen up,” leaves viewers intrigued. While it’s challenging to decipher the clues Aston Martin is revealing, the lightweight nature of the seat suggests it may be intended for a high-performance variant.
The second video, however, introduces more questions than answers. The Vantage display shares the same headlight design as the current model, but the rear fascia appears to have been redesigned. Given previous spy photos showcasing a new headlight design, the video might be a blend of the old and the new.
The tail lights maintain their wraparound style but exhibit a fresh design. A brief glimpse of the interior in the video reveals green stitching on a perforated leather seat, hinting at possible interior updates. There are also speculations about a new infotainment system similar to the one featured in the DB11, replacing DB12, supporting next-generation Apple CarPlay, and extending across multiple screens.
The powertrain details remain uncertain at this point. The current Vantage is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG, delivering 375kW of power and 685Nm of torque. Although there have been more potent F1 Edition and V12 variants, it’s confirmed that the V12 option will not continue with the updated model.
In November 2023, Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman shared with Autocar that the new Vantage would boast a styling reminiscent of a “complete hooligan,” drawing heavily from the company’s Formula 1 expertise. Product and Marketing Strategy Director Alex Long further emphasized the anticipated broader operating range and increased differentiation within Aston Martin’s sports car and GT range.
