Second-Gen 2024 Porsche Macan Arrives As A Tech-laden All-electric SUV

Porsche has unveiled the second-generation Macan Electric SUV, marking its entry into the realm of high-performance, all-electric SUVs. This new addition joins the ranks alongside the highly popular Taycan, becoming Porsche’s second electric vehicle.

According to the German sports car manufacturer, the Macan Electric SUV will be offered in two distinct models: the base Macan 4 EV and the Macan Turbo. The entry-level Macan EV is priced at $78,800, while the more powerful Turbo version comes with an MSRP of $105,300.

After numerous teasers and spy shots, Porsche has finally introduced its eagerly awaited electric Macan SUV, following in the footsteps of the successful Taycan. This performance-oriented Macan, now in its second generation, has undergone a complete transformation to become an all-electric SUV, a decade after its initial launch.

Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan, emphasized Porsche’s commitment to delivering the sportiest model in its segment with the all-electric Macan. He stated, “With the all-electric Macan, we are presenting the first Porsche that we are taking electric from an established product identity.”

The base Macan EV boasts 402 horsepower, 479 lb-ft of torque, and an electric driving range of up to 381 miles (613 km). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h.

Meanwhile, the Macan Turbo, with its impressive 630 horsepower and 833 lb-ft of torque, offers an electric driving range of up to 367 miles (591 km). It can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, achieving a top speed of 260 km/h.

The Porsche Macan EV features a 100 kWh (95 kWh usable) lithium-ion battery pack, supporting DC fast charging of up to 270 kW. This allows the battery to be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes.

Inside the Macan, a new-generation infotainment system takes center stage, featuring up to three screens, including a 12.6-inch, curved-design instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central display.

An optional 10.9-inch screen offers passengers the ability to access information, adjust settings on the infotainment system, or stream video content while the vehicle is in motion.

The base Porsche Macan EV is priced at $78,800, while the top-tier Turbo version is set at an MSRP of $105,300. Anticipated deliveries for the new electric Macan are scheduled to commence in the second half of the year.
