What a difference seven days can make! These images capture the transformation within that timeframe. Thanks to a major storm hitting Southern California, we managed to complete our 125cc Shootout testing just before it struck. Now, we eagerly await the rain to cease, anticipating epic trails in the aftermath.
If you haven’t caught Dirt Bike Magazine Vlog #7 yet, you’re in for a treat. Take a peek behind the scenes of our 125cc MX Shootout video day with Travis “Raw Dog” Fant, Ron “Money Shot” Lawson, Mark “Mad Dog” Tilley, and our test riders. Click here or the image above to enjoy the entertainment.

Ever thought of turning a GasGas MC250 2-Stroke into a roaring 500cc beast? Well, now it’s possible! With Riley and the crew at BRC Racing in Canada lending a hand, doubling the displacement was surprisingly straightforward.
The BRC’s 500cc engine conversion is engineered to seamlessly fit into the last-generation KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas steel frames with minimal modifications. Check out the full build story by clicking the image above or here.
Curious about the AJP PR7? This American off-road bike pushes the boundaries of specialization, carving a niche yet to be named. For now, we’ll label it a rally bike, although the sport isn’t quite mainstream in the U.S. Dive into the full test here or click the image above for more details.
Travis Times 2
Delving into Dirt Bike’s extensive archives, we unearthed two images capturing the evolution of Travis Pastrana, taken a year apart at the Glen Helen National MX.
In 2000, Travis Pastrana, adorned with the number 199 and handguards, dominated the scene on an RM125 at Glen Helen.
Fast forward a year later, and Travis swapped his trademark 199 for a number one plate, marking his sole national championship victory.
Travis Pastrana was among the many beneficiaries of Roger DeCoster’s mentorship during his motocross career.
As team manager at Suzuki, Roger provided guidance while also contributing monthly content as Executive Editor for Dirt Bike Magazine. For an insight into Roger’s early interactions with Travis, check out a feature penned by Roger himself in 1999.
