Mate Rimac, pronounced Rimatz, is a well-known figure in the automotive world, particularly renowned for his hypercars. Today marked a significant milestone for Rimac Automobili as they delivered their first vehicle to a customer from Croatia, fulfilling a long-awaited desire.
The delivery took place at Manhattan Motorcars, the local dealer of Rimac Automobili, in a ceremony with a New York theme, chosen because the client now resides in the city where he has lived for the past 25 years.
The recipient of the hypercar is Dr. Branko Škovrlj, a neurosurgeon who left Croatia to pursue his American dream in 1999.
He initially came to the United States as a Rotary exchange student in Council Grove, Kansas, and later pursued his undergraduate studies on a basketball scholarship at Clayton State University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating in 2005 with Magna Cum Laude honors.
Dr. Škovrlj’s career in neuroscience has been highly successful, establishing him as an esteemed specialist in the field.
Dr. Škovrlj’s purchase of the Rimac Nevera hypercar is noteworthy considering its impressive specifications and price tag, starting at 2.2 million dollars.
His interest in the car was sparked by a chance encounter with a YouTube video, where he identified with Mate Rimac’s story and felt a connection to the vehicle due to their shared Balkan heritage and paths to success.
As part of the purchasing experience, Dr. Škovrlj had the opportunity to visit Rimac Automobili’s facilities, meet the team, and customize his Nevera to his preferences. Drawing parallels between the car’s intricate wiring and the neurons in the brain, Dr. Škovrlj appreciated the attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Opting for a Predator Black ‘Fantasy’ livery with a Red Blaze leather interior and glossy red brake calipers, Dr. Škovrlj’s Nevera reflects his style.
