This week has proven to be quite challenging for Toyota, as the company faces three separate recalls affecting its operations in the U.S. While two of these recalls are relatively minor, involving only a small number of vehicles and issues such as rearview image display and seat welds, one recall demands more attention.

Toyota announced a recall of 280,000 vehicles in the American market, including models from the Toyota Tundra, Toyota Sequoia, and Lexus LX 600 families.

These vehicles share components and are affected by a transmission issue. Although Toyota hasn’t specified the exact faulty part, it is related to certain elements within the transmission that may fail to disengage immediately when shifted to neutral.

This could result in unintended vehicle movement, potentially leading to accidents. To address this issue, Toyota will provide a software update for the transmission, free of charge. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 2022 and 2024.

Owners can check their vehicle status by visiting Toyota’s official recall page or by contacting the Toyota Brand Engagement Center. Official notifications will be sent to affected customers starting in late April.
