Novitec has unveiled a special version of the Ferrari 296 GTB after years of development. This tuned model, which recently debuted, now appears in a sleek black finish, as showcased on the aftermarket specialist’s social media platform.
Resembling a true Ferrari VS (Versione Speciale), this 296 GTB showcases meticulous tuning. It boasts a carbon fiber body kit that could easily be mistaken for factory-made in Maranello, Italy, and boasts increased power output.
In terms of aesthetics, the supercar features a new front splitter and complementary diffuser, beefier side skirts, redesigned mirror caps, intake add-ons to feed air to the engine, and a ducktail spoiler to enhance its overall appearance.
Adorned in an all-black finish, the showcased model rides on Y-spoke alloys bearing Ferrari’s emblem and features yellow brake calipers for a striking contrast. Inside, the cabin blends leather and suede in black to match the exterior, accented with subtle hints of yellow.
Novitec offers an optional exhaust system for the Ferrari 296 GTB, equipped with active valves for a deeper exhaust note. Additionally, they provide turbo inlet tweaks and sports catalytic converters.
These enhancements result in an extra 37 horsepower from the 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, boosting the plug-in hybrid’s combined output to 856 horsepower.
Though Novitec has yet to disclose precise performance figures for their modified 296 GTB, it’s anticipated to surpass the stock version’s performance. The standard model achieves a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in 2.9 seconds, reaches 124 mph (200 kph) in 7.3 seconds, and boasts a top speed exceeding 205 mph (330 kph).
Unaltered, the Ferrari 296 GTB offers a total system output of 818 horsepower, with the gasoline engine capable of revving up to 8,500 rpm. Furthermore, with the 7.45 kWh battery fully charged, it can travel emission-free for up to 16 miles (25 km), ideal for city cruising. Ferrari reports a dry weight of 3,261 pounds (1,479 kg) for the 296 GTB, achieving approximately 36.8 US mpg (6.4 l/100 km) equivalent.
Introduced in 2021, the Ferrari 296 GTB shares components with the SF90 and is available in coupe and roadster body styles. This model marks Ferrari’s return to a six-cylinder engine since the iconic Dino 246. Among its competitors are the McLaren Artura and the Lamborghini Revuelto, which has replaced the Aventador.
