Calgarians passionate about automobiles have reason to rejoice as the Calgary International Auto and Truck Show (CIATS) returns to the BMO Centre at Stampede Park after a hiatus of three years.
“We’re back,” exclaims Jim Gillespie, executive manager of the Calgary Motor Dealers Association.
“It’s been three years, but in the last two years, we couldn’t muster enough manufacturer or dealer support to organize a show – there simply wasn’t adequate inventory available.
The global supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19 particularly impacted automakers. Many individuals waited up to a year to order a new car.”
However, the landscape has shifted for 2024. Manufacturer and dealer inventory has seen improvement, and Gillespie confirms that he has garnered full support to stage the show.
This year, scheduled to take place from March 7 to 10, marks the 41st edition of CIATS.
