March marks the onset of a scorching season, not just in terms of weather but also for the automotive industry. As the motor show season kicks off, our radar is tuned to the Bangkok International Motor Show, with the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) following suit from April 4 to 7, 2024.
MIAS, renowned as one of the country’s premier motor exhibitions, promises to serve as the stage for the debut of numerous car models and even fresh automotive brands.
In a recent press gathering, Changan Auto Philippines (CAP) stole the spotlight by unveiling its latest offering: the CS15 subcompact crossover, set to make its grand entrance at MIAS.
This petite vehicle, akin in size to the Geely GX3, is propelled by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine churning out an impressive 170 horsepower, as per its official website. Power is channeled to the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Positioned below the Changan CS35 Plus, the CS15 is poised to carve its niche in the subcompact crossover segment. With expectations of sub-P1 million pricing, it aims to appeal to budget-conscious buyers seeking versatility without compromising on performance.
Curiosity piqued, we inquired about the potential for an electric variant of the CS15. However, CAP disclosed that there are no immediate plans for such a model. Nonetheless, they hinted at an upcoming media preview before MIAS, where comprehensive details and insights into the CS15’s features will be divulged.
For automotive enthusiasts eager to witness the CS15’s prowess firsthand, the wait is on until its official unveiling at MIAS—a month-long anticipation for a glimpse into the future of subcompact crossovers.
