Li Auto’s “Mega” certainly lives up to its name, being touted as the largest mass-produced electric vehicle in the market. While this claim might warrant some scrutiny, there’s no denying its substantial size.

Surprisingly, despite its immense proportions and ability to accommodate seven passengers in spacious comfort, it weighs nearly 3,000 pounds less than the formidable Hummer EV.

Although the Hummer EV and Mega cater to vastly different needs, with the former designed as an off-road powerhouse boasting 1,000 horsepower and a 12,000-pound towing capacity and the latter serving as a versatile people carrier with seven seats and various interior configurations, the weight disparity remains significant.

The Mega, with its curb weight of 6,139 pounds, stands considerably lighter than the 9,063-pound Hummer EV.

Beyond its impressive weight difference, the Li Auto Mega offers a unique blend of features. Despite its unconventional appearance reminiscent of an Apple Magic Mouse, its spacious interior is its defining trait.

The second-row captain’s chairs, complete with wireless phone chargers, can be folded flat and combined with the third-row bench to create a sizable bed. Front passengers can recline and enjoy entertainment on the large infotainment screen, accompanied by seat massagers and a refrigerator for added comfort.

However, the Mega is more than just a luxurious minivan. Boasting a swift 0-60 mph time of 5.5 seconds and an impressive drag coefficient of 0.215, it achieves a claimed range of 441 miles, thanks in part to its two electric motors generating 536 horsepower.

While the Mega may not be the largest EV in terms of exterior dimensions, its interior volume is undoubtedly vast. Regardless of this discrepancy, it remains a substantial electric vehicle offering ample space, impressive range, robust performance, and all-wheel drive capability, all while weighing significantly less than traditional alternatives.

Priced at $77,800, the Mega showcases that electric vehicles can excel as spacious, luxurious family haulers without excessive weight.
