These prototypes feature notably lowered rooflines, indicating a departure from the conventional design. Contrary to expectations, these vehicles are not the anticipated Range Rover Electric; rather, they serve as replacements for the Range Rover Velar.
The brief glimpse of these prototypes, obscured by a passing Defender, offers insights into their design. Notably, a mock roofline and rear cabin are visible, affixed to the genuine bodywork of the electric SUV.
The presence of the Defender 130 alongside provides perspective on the scale of the new model, showcasing its lower and sleeker profile compared to the standard Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.
While official details from Range Rover are yet to be disclosed, it’s known that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is in the process of developing an all-new electric modular architecture (EMA). This platform will serve as the foundation for a range of electric crossovers, all slated for production at JLR’s Halewood facility in the UK.
