Maserati has introduced the GranCabrio Trofeo, the convertible iteration of the GranTurismo, boasting the potent 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine sourced from the MC20 supercar. This powerhouse delivers 542 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of performance, the convertible accelerates to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, slightly slower than the GranTurismo, and achieves a top speed of 196 mph.

Key Changes

Remaining true to Maserati’s commitment to Italian craftsmanship, the GranCabrio is entirely manufactured in Italy, akin to the GranTurismo.

However, it distinguishes itself with a fabric roof, retractable in just 14 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph, and available in five colors. Notable features include standard neck warmers for front passengers and an optional manually folding wind stopper.

The interior boasts a 12.2-inch driver display complemented by a 12.3-inch touchscreen handling infotainment functions and roof and neck warmer controls. Additionally, a standard Sonus Faber sound system with 13 speakers ensures an immersive audio experience, with an optional 16-speaker system delivering 1,060 watts.

Pricing and Availability

While specific pricing and availability details are yet to be disclosed, the GranTurismo Trofeo typically starts at around $200,000. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, a Modena trim with 483 hp will be offered later, featuring a reduced power output of 483 hp and a lower top speed of 188 mph.

Considering the price differentials observed in the coupe range, the Modena convertible variant is expected to be over $30,000 cheaper than its range-topping Trofeo counterpart.

Alternatively, an all-electric Folgore version, boasting up to 760 hp, is in the pipeline, albeit likely at a higher price point. While Maserati has yet to announce the exact release date for the GranCabrio, it is anticipated to hit US dealerships before the year’s end.
