The Nissan Rogue’s driver and front passenger seatbelt pretensioners are supplied by ZF Occupant Safety Systems based in Mexico. Recent documents published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveal that nearly 10,000 units of the 2023 Nissan Rogue may have been assembled with partially crimped lap pretensioners, posing a significant safety concern.

Recognizing the importance of occupant protection, dealers have been instructed to replace the left- and right-side seatbelt assemblies at no cost to affected owners.

This operation, which takes approximately one hour, aims to rectify the issue promptly. Notifications will be sent to owners via first-class mail, with distribution expected to commence no earlier than April 19, 2024.

The supplier identified the problem with a passenger-side seatbelt anchor sub-assembly on June 27, 2023, prompting an immediate investigation.

Subsequently, Nissan North America was notified, leading to a thorough parts audit at the Smyrna plant in Tennessee. While only one incorrectly crimped pretensioner was identified, the scope of affected models was determined based on production records provided by ZF.
