Performance-wise, the CityAirbus NextGen promises a range of 50 miles (80 km) and a top speed just shy of 100 mph (75 mph/120 kph). With a spacious cabin accommodating up to three passengers alongside the pilot, Airbus aims to revolutionize urban transportation with this cutting-edge vehicle.

Looking ahead, Airbus plans to kickstart a flight test campaign later in the year, leveraging its new testing facility in Donauworth, specifically tailored for eVTOLs. This facility, inaugurated alongside the prototype’s unveiling, underscores Airbus’s commitment to advancing electric aviation technology.

Incorporating a plethora of advanced technologies, including a dedicated human-machine interface by Crouzet and a power distribution unit by Eaton, the CityAirbus NextGen epitomizes Airbus’s vision for the future of urban air mobility.

As anticipation builds for its maiden flight, this prototype heralds a new era of sustainable and efficient urban transportation.
