The 2024 Lucid Air lineup has undergone significant updates, including a reduction in the starting price and enhancements based on customer feedback.

In an interview with the media platforms during ModaMiami, Rob Whitely, senior manager of product marketing at Lucid, shed light on the brand’s swift response to customer input to enhance overall satisfaction.

Whitely emphasized the strategic pricing, stating, “The price point enables us to go right into the meat of the market with BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan.”

The entry-level Air Pure, priced at $69,900 MSRP, has been hailed as a “game changer,” offering standard features like adaptive cruise control and heated front seats, which are often optional in competing models. Even the base Air Pure boasts an impressive range of 410 miles per charge, surpassing rivals like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and even Tesla.

To streamline the range and offer smarter options, Lucid eliminated less popular configurations like the Pure All-Wheel-Drive and Grand Touring Performance models. The Touring now serves as the most affordable AWD variant, while the high-performance Sapphire model delivers a staggering 1,234 hp.

“We responded to customer requests to decouple content from the trim levels,” Whitely explained, highlighting the ability for customers to access desired features without the need to upgrade for additional power or range.

In response to feedback, Lucid made the aluminum roof a standard feature across all models, with the glass canopy remaining optional. Furthermore, over-the-air updates continuously enhance the user interface and introduce new features, such as the Creature Comfort Mode inspired by Tesla’s Dog Mode.

Looking ahead, Lucid announced plans to adopt Tesla’s NACS connector starting in 2025, though specific details regarding its implementation remain undisclosed. Whitely hinted at the possibility of an adaptor from CCS to NACS to facilitate the transition, underscoring Lucid’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
