The first-generation Ford Mustang, produced for nearly a decade, achieved remarkable sales figures, approaching three million units. While ubiquitous as a classic, it spawned several rare variants highly coveted by enthusiasts.

Among these rarities, the Shelby GT350 and GT500 stand out as the scarcest and most desirable iterations. Additionally, models like the Boss 302, Boss 429, and the one-year production Boss 351 hold significant appeal.

Notable mentions include the Mach 1 Cobra Jet, which, though not scarce in production numbers, is increasingly challenging to find in all-original condition.

Recent discoveries showcased in a video by “Adventures Made From Scratch” unveil an assortment of late 1960s Ford Mustangs, ranging from pristine specimens to those requiring complete restoration.

Noteworthy finds include a 1969 Boss 302, one of only 1,628 units produced, and a 1969 Shelby GT350, rescued from a ravine albeit requiring extensive restoration.

Moreover, the collection boasts a 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible, a rare variant with only 404 examples produced, distinguished by its retractable soft top. Additionally, a 1970 Shelby GT350, repurposed from leftover 1969 models with 1970 VINs, adds to the assortment, along with a modified 1967 Shelby GT500, epitomizing drag racing prowess.

Scheduled for auction at MAG Auctions, these Mustangs encapsulate automotive history and enthusiast fervor, promising to ignite bidding wars among collectors and aficionados alike.
