A Lamborghini Aventador was stolen in Ontario, Canada, on Tuesday by an individual posing as a potential buyer who requested a test drive, according to police reports. The theft took place in a parking lot at Notre Dame Drive and Erbs Road in St. Agatha, Ontario, during the afternoon.
The suspect arrived at the meeting location in a white Mercedes-Maybach, accompanied by other passengers. After entering the Aventador with the keys inside, the perpetrator swiftly drove off in the direction of Waterloo, Ontario. Following closely behind was the Mercedes-Maybach, as noted by CTV News.
The choice of vehicle by the alleged thieves seemed appropriate for potential Lamborghini buyers, considering the significant value associated with a Mercedes-Maybach, often exceeding $200,000.
Had the suspects arrived in a markedly incongruous vehicle, such as an old and deteriorated Toyota Camry, it might have raised suspicion. However, discerning the legitimacy of the Mercedes-Maybach was not feasible for the Lamborghini owner.
Efforts to recover the stolen Lamborghini are underway, though the likelihood diminishes with each passing day. Given the distinctiveness of the speeding Aventador and the accompanying Mercedes-Maybach, there’s a possibility that eyewitnesses or dash camera footage may aid in locating the vehicles.
