Porsche’s 1,100 Hp Taycan Turbo GT Has Been Officially Released

The Porsche 911 has long been hailed as the epitome of sportiness within the brand, but the Taycan is rapidly gaining ground. Particularly noteworthy is the latest addition to the lineup: the formidable Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, boasting over 1,100 horsepower.

Key Features:

  • Powering up to 1,108 horsepower
  • Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.2 seconds
  • Outpacing the Model S Plaid on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

While the Porsche Taycan typically coexists harmoniously alongside the 911, its exceptional performance sometimes steals the spotlight.

The Taycan Turbo S, in particular, has left an indelible mark on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Now, Porsche has introduced the Turbo GT, a variant that eclipses even the Turbo S in power. Beneath its distinctive moniker lies a world of difference.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT packs a punch with a base output of 789 horsepower, surpassing the Turbo S. Engaging launch control unleashes a staggering 1,034 horsepower, with an additional over-boost option pushing it to a whopping 1,108 horsepower for brief bursts. Torque peaks at 1,340 Nm.

With such immense power, performance is electrifying. The Taycan Turbo GT rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, a figure further reduced to 2.2 seconds with the optional Weissach package—two-tenths quicker than the Turbo S.

Accelerating from 0 to 200 km/h takes a mere 6.6 seconds, or 6 seconds with the Weissach package, shaving off 1.3 seconds compared to the Turbo S. Top speed is an impressive 305 km/h, surpassing the Turbo S’s 295 km/h. And for those concerned about range, the Taycan Turbo GT boasts a WLTP-certified driving range of 555 km.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT isn’t merely about beefed-up motors; it’s engineered for superior handling. Equipped with the Dynamic package as standard, it features a specially tuned Porsche Active Ride suspension.

It sports lighter 21-inch wheels and brakes, contributing to a weight reduction of 75 kilograms compared to the Turbo S. This weight savings is further enhanced with the optional Weissach package, shedding an additional 70 kilograms by omitting rear seats, floor mats, and the Sport Chrono clock, and reducing sound insulation.

Enhanced aerodynamics play a crucial role in the Taycan Turbo GT’s performance. Notable features include extra wings on the front and a sizable adaptive rear spoiler with a ‘Gurney Flap’ at the rear.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT commands a price tag of approximately €249,900, with or without the Weissach package.
