Audi Refreshes Its A3 Compact Vehicle For 2025 Model Year

Yesterday marked the long-awaited unveiling of the restyled premium compact sedan, the Audi A3, initially anticipated in 2023. The revamped model is now available for orders, boasting a base price of €38,080 featuring the 35 TFSI 150 hp Sportback engine.

Since its inception in 1996, the Audi A3 has epitomized the concept of the premium compact sedan. The current fourth-generation iteration was introduced in February 2020 and hit the market in July of the same year.

While the mid-cycle refresh was originally slated for 2023, its implementation experienced a slight delay, yet has now been officially confirmed. Both the 5-door A3 Sportback and the 4-door A3 sedan variants are subject to these updates.

The restyled A3 presents a subtle evolution in its design. Notable changes include a lower and wider grille, heightened scoops flanking the single-frame, and headlights offering four customizable light signature options.

Employing a matrix architecture comprising 24 modules, distributed across three rows akin to large pixels, adorns each projector. Previously, the customizable aspect of the projectors resided in the lower corner, now relocated to the upper part.

Introducing an à la carte light signature feature, a technological marvel already showcased in the Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback. The new Audi logo, featuring the four rings in a flat design, is now standard.

Following the restyling of the Audi e-tron, later rebranded as the Audi Q8 e-tron, all models within the brand’s portfolio are equipped with this updated logo.

Within the cabin, refinements include sleeker central air vent grilles, along with a redesigned gear lever and central console. Notably, the central console now houses an adjustable armrest, offering both length and inclination adjustments.

Further enhancing the driving experience, the MMI multimedia system boasts a range of 30 colors, complemented by standard features such as DAB+ digital radio and an inductive smartphone charger. Via Audi Connect, optional applications can be purchased on a one-time basis or permanently, with subscription options ranging from one month to three years.

Exclusive to the restyled A3 are two new body colors: District Green and Progressive Red, while the optional Daytona Gray matte paint adds a touch of exclusivity.

Orders for the facelifted Audi A3 are now open, with initial offerings centered around two engine options: 35 TFSI and 35 TDI, both boasting 150 hp. Both engine variants come standard with a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox.

In the subsequent quarter, the Audi A3 lineup will expand to include other versions, notably the plug-in hybrid variant. Similar to the restyled Volkswagen Golf 8, introduced earlier in the year, the power output of the plug-in hybrid is expected to increase from 245 to 272 hp. Anticipation also surrounds the release of the restyled Audi S3, with a power increase from 310 to 333 hp.

Starting at €38,080 for the Sportback variant, the Audi A3 35 TFSI commands an additional €565 for the 4-door sedan body, setting its starting price at €38,645.

Audi enthusiasts can look forward to the inclusion of the S Edition Competition in three other models, expanding the brand’s offerings.
