Marcello Gandini, renowned for his iconic designs such as the Lamborghini Countach and Lancia Stratos, has passed away at the age of 85. Born on August 26, 1938, in Turin, Italy, Gandini’s creative journey began at a young age.
His passion for automotive design blossomed when he joined the renowned Gruppo Bertone styling center under the mentorship of Nuccio Bertone, following in the footsteps of design legend Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Gandini’s first major project, the Lamborghini Miura, marked the beginning of his influential career. Subsequently, he continued to push boundaries with groundbreaking designs, including the Lamborghini Countach, which captivated enthusiasts with its futuristic aesthetics and soulful essence.
His visionary approach extended beyond supercars, as seen in concept cars like the Marzal and Alfa Romeo 33 Carabo, each bearing his signature blend of innovation and elegance.
