Ford has issued a recall for certain four-door Bronco SUVs produced between November 28, 2023, and December 17, 2023, due to potential issues with the child safety locks.

The recall, prompted by reports from assembly plant workers, affects a specific batch of vehicles with non-functional child safety locks on the left-hand rear doors.

Following an investigation, Ford discovered that a sheet metal fixture improvement introduced on September 13 caused an interference, potentially deflecting the latch frame plate and inner release lever. While only left-hand rear doors are affected, Ford has initiated inspections and, if necessary, will replace the latch at no charge to owners.

Recall notifications will be sent via first-class mail between April 16 and April 19, covering both 2023 and 2024 models. Owners can verify if their vehicles are included in the recall by entering the 17-character VIN on Ford’s website or the NHTSA’s website.
