Mercedes-Benz has revealed the pricing and specifications for the highly anticipated AMG GT Coupe in the United States, marking the arrival of the second generation of the Three-pointed Star’s challenger to the Porsche 911.
Despite being more affordable than a base Neuenelfer, the entry-level Maserati GranTurismo comes with a significantly higher price tag, positioning the new GT in an appealing market segment.
Upon launch, two variants equipped with the same engine will be introduced: the GT 55 and the GT 63. Unlike other models in the Mercedes lineup, there are no trim levels to select from, as both variants come comprehensively equipped with standard features. With prices well into six figures, optional extras can further elevate the cost.
The lineup kicks off with the GT 55 priced at $134,900, powered by a 469-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Stepping up to the GT 63, buyers can enjoy 577 horsepower, but at a higher price of $175,900. Notably, the same engine is utilized in the new Aston Martin Vantage, albeit producing an even greater 656 horsepower.
Despite the substantial cost, the MSRP includes numerous performance and luxury amenities, with more affordable variants featuring six-cylinder power expected to join the lineup shortly.
Both GT Coupes come equipped with features such as the AMG Dynamic Select “Race” Drive Program, AMG Active Ride Control Suspension, rear-axle steering, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
Moreover, the interior boasts luxurious appointments, including a Burmester surround sound system, a heated Nappa leather-trimmed AMG Performance steering wheel, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
Additional standard equipment encompasses a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, blind-spot assistance, and connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For further customization, Mercedes-Benz offers an array of options and packages for AMG GT Coupe buyers.
Exterior customization options include various paint choices and wheel designs, along with packages like the Carbon Fiber Package and the AMG Aerodynamics Package, which enhance both aesthetics and performance. Inside, buyers can select from nine upholstery finishes and opt for a 2+2 seating layout for added versatility.
All prices mentioned exclude the $1,150 destination fee charged by Mercedes-Benz.
