Triumph introduced the Rocket 3 two decades ago. It was a motorbike with an engine so big it could compete with automobile engines. Initially featuring a 2,294cc engine, Triumph later upgraded it to a colossal 2,458cc displacement in 2019.
Despite its name referencing the engine’s cylinder count, the Rocket 3 garnered a loyal following enamored by its sheer power and performance. Triumph’s records indicate over 18,000 units sold since the engine upgrade five years ago, prompting the release of various models, including Special Editions and the Chrome Collection.
The latest iteration, the 2024 Rocket 3 Storm, retains the mammoth engine but receives enhancements for increased performance and handling. Generating 180 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque, the Storm delivers exhilarating power at 7,000 rpm.
Sporting 16-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with a new design, the Storm weighs 317 kg for the R variant and 320 kg for the GT. Showa suspension and Brembo brakes ensure a balanced and responsive ride.
Safety features like lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control accompany four riding modes for customizable performance. From a design perspective, the Storm boasts blacked-out components, embodying a dark and moody aesthetic.
Distinguishing the R and GT models are ergonomic differences, with the GT offering a more upright riding position and forward foot controls. Triumph has commenced orders for both variants, pricing the Rocket 3 Storm R at $24,995 and the GT at $25,795.
