Recently, Harley-Davidson ventured into the electric motorcycle market with its LiveWire model. However, the initial LiveWire motorcycle failed to make an impact due to its underwhelming specifications and usability issues, leading to its discontinuation.
Despite this setback, Harley-Davidson repurposed the LiveWire name by establishing it as a separate brand in 2022. Since then, LiveWire has been producing electric motorcycles featuring two main model families: the One and the S2 Del Mar.
While the One remains unchanged, the Del Mar was offered in two versions until the introduction of the Mulholland, expanding the lineup to three models. The LiveWire S2 Mulholland represents a new direction for the company, characterized by a focus on performance cruising and sustainable materials.
It shares similarities with the S2 Del Mar family but introduces unique design elements and eco-friendly components. Powered by an electric drivetrain, it boasts a 10.5 kWh battery pack with a range of 121 miles in city conditions and 73 miles on highways. Charging options include Level 1 and Level 2 chargers, with varying charging times.
With an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, the Mulholland offers 84 horsepower and 194 ft-lb of torque. Notable design features include the use of sustainable materials like CAP Hemp bio-composite and PCR Nylon 6, along with exposed brake lines and wiring harnesses for a closer rider connection.
A six-inch riser enhances rider posture, while Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart IV tires ensure optimal performance. Available in Liquid Black with black or red accents, the Mulholland is priced at $15,999 in the U.S. Accessories, such as passenger seats, windscreens, and luggage racks, will be available to enhance the riding experience and visual appeal.
