The 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is set to receive a series of enhancements, with a particular focus on aerodynamics, advanced technology, and performance. Despite these updates, the iconic G-Class retains its distinctive boxy design, reminiscent of its legendary predecessors.

The upcoming model year introduces subtle yet significant changes to the G-Class lineup, including redesigned A-pillars, an updated grille, and reshaped front and rear bumpers. Notably, these modifications are not merely cosmetic but are geared towards enhancing aerodynamic efficiency—a crucial factor for the anticipated electric variant.

Under the hood, the G550 bids farewell to its previous V-8 engine and welcomes a new turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six, delivering an impressive 443 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the AMG-tuned G63 retains its powerful twin-turbo V-8, now complemented by a 48-volt hybrid system for enhanced performance.

In terms of suspension, the G63 introduces the AMG Active Ride Control system, utilizing hydraulic anti-roll bars and dampers to minimize body roll during cornering and improve ride comfort.

The AMG Offroad Package Pro offers two new drive modes AMG Tracking Pro and AMG Active Balance Control aimed at optimizing traction and control in off-road conditions.

Inside the cabin, both G-Wagon models boast an array of new features, including an updated MBUX infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Climate-controlled front cupholders, wireless charging, and a revised rear-seat entertainment system further enhance convenience and comfort.

On the safety front, the 2025 G-Class offers an adaptive cruise control system with lane-centering functionality, alongside standard passive entry and a Burmester surround-sound stereo. Moreover, Mercedes expands its customization options through the Manufaktur service, allowing buyers to personalize their G-Class according to their preferences.

Production of the updated models is set to commence soon, with the 2025 G550 and G63 expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships in the latter half of the year. While pricing details have yet to be announced, prospective buyers can anticipate a slight increase over the previous models’ starting prices. Nevertheless, the allure of the G-Class’s timeless design and enhanced performance is likely to attract enthusiasts and luxury SUV aficionados alike.
