Certain Transit vehicles produced for the US market between 2023 and 2024 have been recalled due to insufficient packaging allowance, resulting in potential tire damage. Ford has identified vehicles equipped with the Transit Trail package as affected by this issue.
The Transit Trail package, introduced in November 2022, enhances the off-road capability of the medium- or high-roof cargo van configurations with features like a 3.5-inch body lift. Despite its intended ruggedness, reports of tire damage prompted Ford to investigate and address the concern.
While Ford acknowledges the issue, a remedy is not yet available. Affected owners will be notified of the recall, with dealers prepared to address the issue once a solution is identified. Meanwhile, safety remains a priority, with standard features like Forward Attention Warning (FAW) ensuring driver awareness.
