Netizens have been buzzing with reactions following the sighting of a fleet of multi-billion naira worth of luxury cars during an APC political meeting. This sighting serves as yet another testament to the opulent lifestyle of Nigerian politicians, who evidently own and travel in the most extravagant vehicles money can procure.
In a widely circulated video capturing the departure of members of the ruling party, notably the presence of National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, the scene showcases an array of armored luxury cars from prestigious brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Toyota.
Among the luxurious vehicles highlighted by auto enthusiasts, there was a Toyota Land Cruiser 250 SUV and a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the latter notably employed to transport Ganduje. Additionally, the footage reveals other notable vehicles, including a Lexus LX 600 and two bulletproof Mercedes S-Class models, one of which was discreetly concealed under tarpaulin.
This display underscores the penchant of Nigerian politicians for indulging in the most lavish automotive acquisitions, a lifestyle facilitated by the generous salaries and lucrative appointments that accompany political office.
Recalling a similar display of extravagance last September, when Ganduje and Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, were observed traversing in a convoy adorned with some of the most luxurious vehicles in the country. Noteworthy vehicles within this presidential-like motorcade included a bulletproof Lexus LX 600 SUV, designated with a plate bearing the title ‘National Chairman of APC’ and serving as Ganduje’s chauffeured transport.
Further additions to this procession included a bulletproof Mercedes-Benz S-Class, presumably utilized for Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, along with a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and a Honda CR-V Crossover SUV. Such ostentatious displays of wealth continue to provoke discussions among netizens, shedding light on the extravagant lifestyles enjoyed by Nigerian political elites.
