While specifics regarding the R36’s powertrain remain undecided, Pandikuthira hinted at potential electrification, drawing inspiration from Formula E.

Nissan faces challenges with an electric powertrain due to battery weight, awaiting advancements such as solid-state batteries for enhanced performance and safety. Chief Executive Officer Makoto Uchida mentioned hybrid powertrains as an alternative consideration for the R36, alongside confirmation of a new platform.
