Toyota Introduces Rugged Crown Landscape Edition In Japan

Toyota is elevating the Crown lineup in Japan with the debut of the new Landscape special edition. Sporting all-terrain tires, distinctive wheel arches with exposed rivets, and an optional roof rack, the Crown Landscape embodies an adventurous spirit. While this model is exclusive to the Japanese market, it signals Toyota’s commitment to expanding the versatility of its renowned Crown series.

Unlike its sedan counterparts, such as the retired Avalon, the Crown Landscape embraces a more rugged persona, blurring the lines between sedan and SUV. This special edition, designed for outdoor enthusiasts, boasts enhanced ground clearance and robust features tailored for off-road excursions.

As it’s known locally, the Crown Crossover Landscape receives a lifted stance, complemented by resilient 18-inch wheels wrapped in 245/60 all-terrain tires. Its matte-finished wheel arches, adorned with exposed rivets, exude toughness, while red mud flaps add a touch of flair. Additionally, each Landscape model comes equipped with a tow hitch capable of hauling up to 1653 pounds.

Presented in an eye-catching Urban Khaki exterior shade, accented by gloss black elements on the hood, trunk, and door trim, the Landscape exudes rugged elegance. Toyota offers an optional roof rack for added utility, ideal for transporting outdoor gear and equipment.

Inside the cabin, the Landscape edition maintains the Crown’s refined interior, with subtle enhancements such as “Landscape” branding etched into the black dashboard trim, creatively depicting mountains. Powering this adventurous model is the Hybrid Max powertrain, featuring a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor on the rear axle, delivering a robust 340 horsepower.

While the Crown Landscape captures the imagination of Japanese consumers, it is not expected to be available in the U.S. market. With its unique blend of rugged design and advanced hybrid powertrain, the Landscape edition exemplifies Toyota’s dedication to innovation and versatility in the automotive landscape.
