The base Model Y now starts from $63,900 before on-road costs, marking a $1500 reduction, while the mid-level Long Range variant sees a $5500 price drop to $72,900. Meanwhile, the flagship Performance model is now priced at $82,900 before on-roads, representing an $8500 decrease.
Accompanying these adjustments are small design changes, including new black ‘Gemini’ wheel covers for the base and Long Range versions, as well as the introduction of three new optional exterior colors.
Although the Chinese-delivered Model Y received numerous updates, such as enhanced driving range and interior features, Australian customers will miss out on most of them. Despite being manufactured in the same Shanghai factory, the local versions lack certain upgrades like RGB interior ambient lighting and a textile dashboard material. However, a comprehensive update, codenamed Juniper, is expected next year, similar to the recent Model 3 ‘Highland’ facelift.
