In March, Volvo achieved unprecedented success with record-breaking global car sales, marking a remarkable milestone for the company. Selling 78,970 vehicles worldwide, Volvo experienced a remarkable 25 percent increase compared to the same period last year, with 23 percent of these sales being fully electric models.
The surge in sales was particularly notable in Europe, where Volvo witnessed a 33 percent rise, amounting to 39,756 units sold, with nearly 40 percent being electric cars. In the United States, Volvo experienced a substantial 50 percent increase in sales, totaling 15,315 units, albeit fewer than in Europe. Similarly, in China, Volvo saw a 21 percent increase, with 14,005 cars sold.
The Volvo XC30 has played a significant role in bolstering sales figures, although the XC60 remains the brand’s best-selling model, with over 22,400 units sold in March, a notable increase from the previous year. The XC60 constituted over 28 percent of Volvo’s global sales, followed by the XC40 with 20,557 registrations, and the XC90, which sold 10,826 units, securing third place among Volvo’s top-selling models.
