Porsches are renowned for their exceptional engineering, often leaving little room for improvement. However, there are dedicated teams, like Theon Design based in South East England, who endeavor to enhance these German marvels. Among their notable projects is the bespoke Porsche 911 (964) Targa, a testament to their craft.
Originally a Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 2 Targa, this car underwent a remarkable transformation under Theon’s care. Every body panel was replaced with lightweight carbon fiber, save for the doors for added safety. The exterior received a distinctive pastel blue finish, accentuated by contrasting Porsche lettering and ghost stripes.
Under the hood lies a potent 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, tweaked to produce 397 hp and 433 Nm of torque. The chassis received reinforcement with carbon fiber tubes, enhancing torsional rigidity while keeping weight minimal. Additionally, a fully ceramic-coated exhaust system delivers a thrilling motorsport-style sound.
Inside, the Porsche boasts luxurious bucket seats inspired by the Porsche 928, accompanied by a modern sound system integrated into the rear seats’ cushions. The convertible roof, crafted from mohair, adds versatility to the driving experience.
Dubbed GBR003, this bespoke Porsche 911 exemplifies Theon’s expertise in automotive craftsmanship. While such projects come with a price, priced at £415,000 for the Targa variant, the unparalleled driving experience justifies the investment.
